About
True Self Couture is an ArtWear Collective currently comprised of three individual members.
Artwear describes one-of-a-kind wearable art fashion aimed to inspire both wearer and viewer.
Starting with original designs, referencing classic 20th century style, collective members bring 21st century vision to everyday clothing.
A wide variety of materials are used by artists including cloth, leather, ultra suede, metal and polymer. Many of these materials are recycled or repurposed. All of the garments are handmade.
Self expression is ever changing; it does not go in or out of style. The life long path of personal development is at the core of our work at True Self Couture.
We hope that you find inspiration and expression through our wearable art.

My couture intends to re-define our place in the twenty-first century, a place where we each choose a life of love, and conquer the ‘power-over’ societal structure. I envision a future where a non-binary world is free of Racism, Sexism and Homophobia.
The current traditional model of relationships is defined by power plays and politics, and is echoed in the way we choose to clothe ourselves. When we choose to change our outer appearance we begin to change the traditional societal models and beliefs that bind our lives; stripping away the strangle-hold of the traditional patriarchal world definition.
My couture is designed to inspire you to define your own True Self for yourself - find strength, courage and the resolve to realize our heaven on Earth through One Love.

Working with leather is a vibrant conversation of textures and forms. When selecting pieces for a garment I allow the materials to speak for themselves. Often I start with an idea, but the organic edges and imperfections in the leather seem to form compositions of their own accord.
100% of the leather I use comes from recycled sources.
I utilize “scraps” and rejected hides as I believe in reducing our impact on the planet and seeing the beauty in the rough edges.
I believe in quality work. I aim to make stunning pieces that inspire and excite the wearer again and again.
I believe in radical self expression. I hope that my work offers you an opportunity for you to express your own true self.

I enjoy making art couture that allows the wearer to interpret the feeling of the garment in many ways. My objects have multiple expressions but most of all they bring a feeling of joy that emanates a person’s own sense of light. The fit of the objects enhances a sense of physical self - never comments on specific body measurements. These garments are made to elevate your trueself.
